Dear Colleagues,
I am excited to announce the opening of two new leadership roles on the Dean’s Cabinet, the Vice Dean for Pre-Clinical Research and the Vice Dean for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI). These roles are critical to our future success, and I am very much looking forward to connecting with individuals interested in exploring these opportunities. In brief:
- The Vice Dean for Pre-Clinical Research will develop and advance pre-clinical research strategic initiatives, ensure that WFUSM focuses on translating findings into improved care as part of our “cells to communities” framework, and align resources to optimally support pre-clinical research.
- The Vice Dean for JEDI will plan, direct, and implement programs, policies, and procedures to ensure principles of JEDI are fully integrated across WFUSM academic programs and advance our ability to measure progress to our goals.
The exact composition of my Cabinet is still under consideration, but it is expected that these roles will join others that include, or will include leaders focused on Administration, Medical Education, Faculty Affairs, Research Integration & Strategy, Clinical Research, Translational Science, Population Science, Health Professions, Cancer Programs, and Integration across our markets/regions. The complete job descriptions are linked below. If you are interested in being considered for either role, please do not hesitate to submit your information via this link by 5PM on Monday, May 1, 2023.
