ACT has become ENACT!

January 1, 2023

ACT (Accrual to Clinical Trials) recently went through a system upgrade known as ENACT (Evolving to Next-gen ACT).The ACT Network is a real-time, open-access platform allowing researchers throughout the CTSA consortium to explore and validate feasibility for clinical studies using aggregate, deidentified counts from electronic health records. ACT is an NIH-funded and HIPAA-compliant federated network with data contributed from over 50 CTSA hubs.ENACT enables researchers to conduct EHR-based research on any disease or condition across the network of >142M patients.

Specifically, ENACT enables researchers to:

  • Use the largest federated network for EHR-based research with access to 142M de-identified patients
  • Efficiently conduct regulatory-compliant EHR research on their desktop
  • Access a more robust ACT ontology together with enhanced data quality
