CTSA Programs
The Wake Forest Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) has been made possible by a Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Providing the next generation of scholars with the methodological and professional skills to conduct research in the complex environments of health systems and to disseminate and implement the findings from such research into practice.
Fostering a culture of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in research by developing a sustainable infrastructure through community engagement and translational science.
Supporting pilot projects that will pilot innovative approaches for addressing important roadblocks in translational science with a focus on the Academic Learning Health System (aLHS).
Enhancing patient engagement in translational science using innovative strategies and technologies.
Driving excellence in translational science by implementing rigorous evaluation methodologies and fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement.
Providing expert guidance, informatics tools, programming support, and management of the Translational Data Warehouse (TDW).
Providing support for early-career faculty involved in translational research to expand their skills and competencies under the guidance of skilled multi-disciplinary mentoring teams.
Providing core support to activities that address translational roadblocks in clinical and translational science (CTS) research.
Providing aLHS research teams with tools to understand the barriers and facilitators to implementation in real-world care settings and the knowledge to design rigorous and feasible studies.

A key measure of a program’s productivity is its number of attributed publications. All publications, press releases, or other documents that result from the utilization of any Wake Forest CTSI resources, including the presentation of data and images acquired through CTSI programs, are required to credit the CTSI and comply with NIH Public Access Policy (submission to PubMed Central).
