We are happy to announce that Advocate Health has become an Affiliated Covered Entity (ACE) under HIPAA. All care delivery entities under Advocate Health (Advocate Health Care, Aurora Health Care, Atrium Health) as well as Wake Forest University School of Medicine, are now integrated from a privacy standpoint and can share protected health information (PHI) as if they were one entity. While privacy responsibilities, controls, and safeguards still apply, there is more flexibility in accessing and using PHI across the enterprise.
