Introducing Impact in Action: The Stories Behind Research That Matters

July 9, 2026

The Impact in Action video series highlights the real-world outcomes of research beyond publications and grants. Through short, interview-style conversations, researchers share how their work is improving patient care, influencing practice, and making a difference in the communities they serve. The series helps tell the stories behind the science and showcase the meaningful impact of CTSI-supported research.

In our latest feature, Justin B. Moore, PhD, MS, Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Implementation Science at Wake Forest University School of Medicine reflects on the journey that led him to a career in research, from a lifelong curiosity and love of problem-solving to a passion for improving cardiovascular health, diabetes, and obesity outcomes. He shares how his personal experiences helped shape his research interests and why seeing positive changes in people's lives is what makes the work so rewarding.

For Dr. Moore, success isn't just about the data, it's about the individuals behind it. Whether it's helping someone improve their health, quality of life, or access to care, those personal stories are what remind him why research matters. Watch Dr. Moore's Impact in Action interview and hear how research can create meaningful change for the people and communities we serve.
