The B2B: Bench to Bedside Lunch & Learn Series is a bimonthly opportunity to explore practical topics in nursing science and interprofessional research. Sessions are multidisciplinary and open to anyone interested in learning more about research in practice.
If you missed the July 9th B2B: Bench to Bedside session, the recording is now available to watch and share with colleagues. During the session, Katherine Sauder, PhD, explored what it takes to build strong research partnerships with patients, clinicians, community members, and other stakeholders and why those relationships are often the key to successful, impactful research.
A few key takeaways from the session:
- Bring partners to the table early and keep them involved throughout the research process.
- Take time to build trust by understanding the needs, priorities, and realities of the people and communities you're working with.
- Create opportunities for partners to have a real voice in decision-making, not just provide feedback.
- Keep research practical by reducing barriers and fitting activities into real-world clinical and community settings.
- Focus on relationships first. Strong partnerships help create research that is more relevant, meaningful, and sustainable.
Coming up next in the B2B series:

- November 12, 2026: Featuring Susie Newcomb MA, PhD
