The Southern Medical Association (SMA) is currently accepting abstracts for the inaugural virtual abstract competition that is set to take place August 8-10, 2023. This competition will allow medical students, residents, and fellows from across the country the chance to present their projects at the Association's annual conference.
The top ten oral presentations as well as top ten poster presentations from the virtual event will advance and present in person at the Southern Medical Association's Annual Scientific Assembly in October at the Grandover Resort and Spa in Greensboro, NC for the opportunity to win cash prizes:
Oral Presentation Prizes:
- First Place* - $5,000
- Second Place - $3,000
- Third Place - $1,000
*First place winner's program also receives a $1,000 sponsorship
Poster Presentation Prizes:
- First Place - $1,000
- Second Place - $800
- Third Place - $600

- June 30th, 2023 - Deadline to Submit Abstracts for the Virtual Abstract Competition
- July 14th, 2023 - Deadline to Submit Accepted Presentation
