Since joining Wake Forest CTSI earlier this year, Leila L. Deering, Manager of Application Services for Research Services and Wake Forest’s REDCap Manager, has quickly made an impact in the national REDCap community.
Deering recently presented at REDCapCon 2026, the annual conference bringing together REDCap administrators, developers, and research support professionals from institutions across the country. Through several sessions, she shared practical insights, troubleshooting strategies, and innovative approaches to help research teams address technical challenges and get more out of REDCap.
Wake Forest CTSI welcomed Deering earlier this year as Manager of Application Services for Research Services and Wake Forest’s REDCap Manager. In this role, she oversees REDCap administration and supports the technology and systems investigators and research teams rely on to collect, manage, and securely maintain research data.
Her contributions to the REDCap community have also earned national recognition. Deering received the Fount of Knowledge Award for providing the most accepted answers in the REDCap Community forum, recognizing her technical expertise, collaborative spirit, and dedication to helping fellow REDCap users.
Deering’s participation at REDCapCon reflects Wake Forest CTSI’s commitment to sharing expertise, learning from research partners, and bringing innovative ideas back to the investigators and study teams it serves. We are proud to see Leila representing Wake Forest CTSI on the national stage and look forward to the continued impact of her work across Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Advocate Health.
