The Duke Endowment December 2026

August 18, 2026

The Duke Endowment is accepting concept proposals for the December 15, 2026 cycle of The Duke Endowment (TDE) funding. Concept proposal topics of interest can be found in the RFP.

Concept proposals will be reviewed by the Dean’s Intramural Research Support Committee (IRSC) with the top five concept proposals submitted to TDE in October.

Guidelines:

  • The Duke Endowment does not fund 100% of the project costs. Applicants may request approval for up to 20% cost-share internally through established WFUHS policies and procedures before submitting a concept proposal.
  • The Duke Endowment excludes F&A. Instead, the applicable F&A Rate can be used as an “In-Kind” contribution and included when calculating the overall estimated project cost in the concept proposal.
  • All projects will have a July 1, 2027 start date and be 24 or 36 months in length.
  • Basic research projects are ineligible.
  • Sustainability is a key component and a strong plan to sustain and grow the project (if applicable) should be established.

Interested applications should follow the RFP instructions and submit the concept proposal on page two electronically to the application system by Friday, September 18th.
