The Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) is advancing research and innovation through the appointment of several faculty leaders who will help expand access to studies, accelerate discovery, and improve patient care across the enterprise.
In a recent message to colleagues, Jamy Ard, MD, FTOS, Senior Vice President and Chief Science Officer for Advocate Health and Executive Vice Dean for Research at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, outlined a vision for a learning health system where discovery is embedded in everyday care and translated into better treatments more quickly.
To support that vision, the following leaders will provide strategic direction across key areas of translational science, clinical research, oversight, methods, and community engagement:
- Joseph Andrews, PhD – Vice Dean for Research Oversight and Integrity
- Nadine J. Barrett, PhD, MS, MPH – Vice Dean and Vice Chief Science Officer for Community Engagement, Integration, & Research Access
- Kevin P. High, MD, MS, MACP, FIDSA – Director, Health System Science Unit and Vice Chief Academic Officer, Academic Learning Health System
- Thomas K. Houston II, MD, MPH, FACMI – Vice Dean for Translational Science
- Glenn J. Lesser, MD, FACP – Vice Dean for Clinical Research
- Nicholas M. Pajewski, PhD – Director, Clinical Trials Methods Center
Together, these leaders will help build a more connected research enterprise by combining the scale of Advocate Health with the academic strengths of Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Their work will strengthen infrastructure, expand clinical trials and community partnerships, and help ensure innovations reach the patients and communities who need them most.
