New Standardized Training Requirements for Research Staff

Mandatory Online Modules for Principal Investigators and Study Coordinators

February 9, 2026

Advocate Health is rolling out standardized training requirements for Principal Investigators and Study Coordinators as part of ongoing efforts to harmonize research processes across the Enterprise. These brief online modules, already mandatory in some locations, will now be required for all research leaders to ensure consistent and essential training.

The modules are available through Workday Learning for one-time completion. To access the appropriate training for your role, simply go to the Learning page in Workday and search for the module titles listed below.

Starting July 1, 2026, completion of these modules will be required for all new study submissions and continuing renewals.

Specifically, individuals listed as Principal Investigators in AH-WFUSM IRB submissions must complete the Clinical Research Compliance for Faculty module. Study Coordinators must complete the Clinical Research Study Staff Compliance module. The IRB will not approve submissions until these training requirements are met.

Please take a moment to complete the module relevant to your role before July 1, 2026. Access your module by selecting Learning in Workday and typing the module title in the search bar.

Thank you for your commitment to advancing medical discovery. We wish you a successful and inspiring 2026!
