Research Works-in-Progress sessions are dynamic peer-to-peer discussions sponsored by the Maya Angelou Research Center for Healthy Communities (MARCH). The intent of these sessions is to provide a setting for interdisciplinary feedback on ideas and drafts of scholarly work to promote quality research, publications, and proposals from Advocate Health researchers.
Key Features:
Monthly Sessions:
- The sessions are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 1pm, via Teams.
- Online sessions provide presenters an opportunity to receive feedback on their work in an informal setting (polished presentations and slides are discouraged).
Content varies and may include:
- Works-in-progress presentations
- Journal club-style reviews of recent publications
- Guest lectures by leading experts
- Constructive feedback on grant proposals
- Career development resources
Inclusive Participation:
- Open to individuals across all research stages with an emphasis on faculty interested in research supporting the mission of MARCH.
- Investigators from related fields seeking to become more engaged with MARCH and its faculty are encouraged to join.
