Kiran K. Solingapuram Sai, PhD, has been appointed the inaugural Chief of the Division of Translational Imaging in the Department of Radiology and Director of the Translational Imaging Program within the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), effective December 1, 2025.
In this important new role, Dr. Sai will guide the strategic vision and expansion of translational imaging across the enterprise. His primary focus will be to accelerate first-in-human investigations—moving research rapidly from the lab to the patient—while strengthening imaging research infrastructure and fostering collaborations across the Advocate Health enterprise. Dr. Sai is a tenured Associate Professor in Radiology and a well-recognized NIH-funded investigator. His research program develops and translates PET radiotracers for diagnostics and therapeutics in areas like neurodegenerative diseases, substance use disorder, and cancer.
Dr. Sai brings deep expertise in molecular imaging and currently serves as Director of Radiochemistry and Cyclotron Operations, overseeing radiopharmaceutical production. His scholarship has been widely recognized, including receiving the prestigious Distinguished Investigator Award from the Academy of Radiological Sciences and the SNMMI Mars Shot Innovator Award, and the inaugural Dean Scholar Award.
