The Wake Forest Clinical and Translational Science Institute was recently honored at REDCapCon 2025 the annual international gathering of REDCap administrators held September 14th to 17th in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
Bas de Veer, REDCap Manager at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, took first place in the Best Website category in the Training Materials Competition for the course “REDCap Longitudinal Setup.” The course helps REDCap administrators and users navigate the challenges of configuring longitudinal projects, repeated instruments and event structures while providing practical tools for managing complex research studies.
The team also received recognition in the Best Data Management category for the course “REDCap Data Resolution Workflow” which teaches users how to streamline query tracking, manage comments and resolve data issues within REDCap.
These awards highlight the efforts of the Wake Forest CTSI in developing training resources that benefit researchers and improve REDCap use throughout Advocate Health. The instructional design expertise contributed by Amy Dawson from the Workforce Development team played a crucial role in receiving these honors. These accomplishments were also made possible by effective collaboration among several CTSI programs, which joined forces to upgrade training materials and offer greater support to REDCap users.
The team regularly releases new training courses, including the latest addition, “REDCap AI Tools (basic).” This course is designed for Advocate Health’s enterprise REDCap users and provides step-by-step instructions on text generation, survey translation and response summaries, assisting both new users and those seeking to improve their skills.
