The Wake Forest Pepper Pilot Studies Program is seeking proposals for innovative research projects that generate preliminary data for future external funding. This year’s theme, “Integrating pathways affecting physical function for new approaches to disability treatment and prevention,” supports translational research exploring biological, behavioral, cognitive, genomic, and metabolic factors that contribute to age-related physical function decline and disability progression.
A key goal of the program is to facilitate the development and testing of novel interventions—through clinical or pre-clinical studies—that prevent or reverse disability. Full pilot studies and proposals incorporating additional research measures will be considered.
