The Advancing Clinical Trial Readiness (ACTR) announces a new funding opportunity aimed at transforming clinical trials. Clinical trials are critical for medical breakthroughs but are often slow, costly, and inaccessible to many. ARPA-H is taking bold steps to change that.
The initiative aims to create a nationwide, decentralized infrastructure enabling 90% of eligible Americans to participate in clinical trials within 30 minutes of their home. To do so, ACTR is seeking proposals to develop tools across three technical areas:
- Automatic Clinical Trial Data Prompting & Extraction
- Research and Participant Identification & Engagement
- Trial-Grade Data Validation and Auditing

“Improvements in trial administration—from data collection to recruitment—can dramatically accelerate delivery of innovations to patients,” said ACTR Portfolio Lead Etta Pisano. “By developing new clinical trial tools and testing them in real-world environments, ACTR aims to make unprecedented progress in creating a decentralized and on-demand infrastructure accessible to all Americans.”
Multiple awards under this solicitation are anticipated. Awards will depend on the quality of the proposals received and the availability of funds.
