The Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) Score is a mortality prediction score that is based on the degree of dysfunction of six organ systems. The score is calculated using the worst parameters measured during the prior 24 hours for patients admitted to the ICU. The SOFA scores can be used to determine progression of organ dysfunction in a single patient over time or as a acuity measure for the ICU on a given day. To access these new data elements please use the self-service platform i2b2. In the ‘Terms’ box click on ‘Encounter Details’ then click on ‘Sequential Organ Failure Assessment Score’. Alternatively you can submit a service request here (select "Data Extraction").
