In today’s dynamic healthcare landscape, training the Advocate Health workforce is vital to advancing research and maintaining high care standards. Systematic efforts are enhancing existing programs and creating new curricula to address diverse workforce roles and gaps in translational science.
Upgrading Materials and Expanding Access
New curricula spanning the Academic Learning Health System (aLHS) are being developed, emphasizing translational research distinctions and broadening access to programs like the BERD Lunch & Learn series and Short Course. These updates align educational resources with research focus areas and ensure they serve the workforce effectively.
Targeted Curricula for Key Roles
A significant advancement lies in the creation of curriculum for Clinical Research professionals. These training courses have already been integrated into the organization’s primary learning management system and will be available to all users after July 1st. These roles include:
- Clinical Research Nurses and Clinical Research Coordinators: Equipped with specialized knowledge to navigate complex clinical trials and patient care.
- Clinical Research Associates and Assistants: Focused on supporting the execution and management of research protocols.
- Data Specialists: Responsible for collecting and inputting critical data to ensure research accuracy and integrity.
- Regulatory Specialists: Experts in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and protocols.
Looking Ahead
These efforts represent just the beginning of Advocate Health's commitment to fostering a well-trained workforce capable of navigating the complexities of modern healthcare research. With an eye on continuous quality improvement and alignment with national standards, the organization is committed to building education models that support the National Center for Clinical Trials (NCCT). Updates on these developments will be shared soon.
