Charlotte Research Node

The Charlotte Research Node is an interim space for research offices and a Clinical Research Unit.

The second floor of the space will house Research Administration and research personnel from the Charlotte market, as well as provide hoteling space for research faculty, administration, and personnel from the Winston market when in Charlotte. This area will also include space for meetings and collaboration for researchers and a large break room.

The third floor is where the temporary Clinical Research Unit will be located. It’s expected that this will be the “CRU light” space for 3-5 years, while construction of the permanent location is underway in The Pearl. This temporary CRU will have space for a small lab for processing samples and short-term storage, patient rooms for study participants, space for physical testing, and a waiting area. This temporary space will be smaller than the current CRU in the Winston-Salem market, but we hope to mirror the permanent space after the one housed in the Sticht Center in Winston-Salem.
