Writing the Best Introduction for your Resubmitted NIH Application

When revising a grant application, the response to the reviewers (a 1-page Introduction in NIH applications) is perhaps the most important section. Karen Klein describes how best to use that very limited space in terms of reviewer preferences, organization of material, and highlighting the assets of your application. She also discusses how to discuss your plans for revision with your Program Officer, whether to formally rebut a discouraging review (and how), and tips on effective responses if your Program Officer asks for a last-minute response to convince the Council members to fund your proposal.
