The Effect of State-Level Prescription Opioid Legislation on Patient Outcomes after Lumbar Tubular Micro-Decompression

We investigated the effects of North Carolina's 2017 STOP Act on post-operative narcotic prescribing as it relates to patient outcomes and usage of health care resources.

• What inspires you to do research?
  I enjoy being involved in research because it offers an opportunity to effectuate progress in patient care while also providing the satisfaction of improving our understanding of medical sciences.
• Where do you hope to do your residency and why?
  Wake Forest School of Medicine - Winston-Salem, NC. Wake has a phenomenal training program and my wife and I love this area. I was born and raised in Greensboro.
• Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
  For me, there's no fact more fun than being a dad! My son Grady just turned two and brings more joy to our family than I could've ever imagined!
