Compassion Fatigue is emotional exhaustion that can come from “the cost of caring.” It is characterized by a sense of loss, grief, anxiety, and/or guilt and a gradual lessening of compassion over time. Over time, these emotions can build up and can cause personal and professional problems. This seminar will define compassion fatigue, identify signs, discuss prevention and management strategies, and introduce a new Compassion Fatigue Program at Wake Forest. Pre-registration is not required.
