The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and 16 other federal departments and agencies have announced that the final revisions to the Common Rule will go into effect on January 21, 2019.
This is the first time in 28 years that federal regulations regarding human subjects research will be changing. The IRB staff here at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is well prepared for these changes and is hosting informational meetings to discuss the types of things that will be changing, the timeline of events, and how existing studies will be handled. Every study will be affected by these changes so your attendance at one of these informational meetings is highly recommended!
