The information packed one day meeting will be held at Wake Forest University (Reynolda Campus) on Friday, March 17th. The North Carolina Chapter was formed in 1997, and they look forward to celebrating the 20th Anniversary.
World-renowned researcher, Anthony Atala, MD, will be the keynote speaker, and he will be sharing his research and vision. Dr. Atala is the Director of the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM) and the W. Boyce Professor and Chair of Urology at Wake Forest University Health Sciences. Dr. Atala is a practicing surgeon and a researcher in the area of regenerative medicine. His work focuses on growing human cells, tissues and organs. Most recently, he received the R&D 2016 Innovator of the Year Award for his work with bioprinting. His biography and links to his Ted Talks and WFIRM can be found on the Keynote Speaker page.
