Financial Research Compliance Program for Staff

The Financial Research Compliance Program for Staff is part of a series of required classes to gain signatory authority on a grant. In this program you will learn about the legal importance of financial compliance, the anatomy of chartfields, expense account codes, F&A, property control/equipment, regulations and award guidelines, cost transfers, effort certification, cost sharing, close-out, transfers, and unobligated balances.


This program consists of 7 self-paced, online training modules in HealthStream. At the end of each module there will be a review of key elements to test your knowledge. Complete the review to move on to the next training module in the program. Most modules will take 10-15 minutes to complete and the entire program will take approximately 90 minutes to complete.


To enroll in the program, log into HealthStream using your Medical Center user ID and password.

  • Click on the Catalog button and enter “Financial Research Compliance Program for Staff” in the search box.
  • Click on the title and then click the green Enroll button. It will be now be added to your To Do list.
  • Click on the To Do button to go to the list and start the training.
